James SteagallFLORIDA NOTARY · SIGNING AGENT

PRICING · EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 20, 2026

Transparent notary pricing
in Fort Lauderdale.

Every quote has the same parts: the Florida notarial fee, a travel fee based on distance, and any add-ons you agree to in advance. Weekends cost the same as weekdays.

Local mobile appointments start at $75: $65 travel within 10 miles plus one completed notarization at $10. Includes up to 20 minutes on site, printing up to 10 black-and-white pages, and my participation as a document witness when permitted, at no extra charge. Each additional completed notarial act is $10.

New rates apply to new quotes. Previously confirmed written quotes remain valid under their agreed terms.

Rush appointment starting within 4 hours of confirmation, subject to availability+$25
Major holiday, identified in your quote+$30

Black-and-white printing beyond the first 10 pages, arranged in advance$0.50 per additional printed page

My own participation as a document witness is included when the document and applicable rules permit it; I cannot notarize my own signature. A witness you provide carries no witness-service fee. Please do not send sensitive documents or ID images with an initial inquiry; we will agree on a suitable document-transfer method if printing is needed. Home visits do not incur the facility add-on just because the signer is homebound.

EXAMPLES

What a visit
usually costs.

  1. A

Power of attorney at home, within 10 miles

Saturday at 2 p.m., booked ahead: one completed act $10 + $65 travel = $75. Includes up to 10 printed pages and my eligible witness participation.

  2. B

Deed requiring two separate notarial acts, over 10 through 20 miles

Two completed acts $20 + $80 travel = $100, with no timing or witness add-ons.

  3. C

Power of attorney and health care surrogate at a facility within 10 miles

One POA notarization $10 + $65 travel + $35 facility = $110, with eligible witnesses supplied by the family or my permitted participation. A standard Florida health care surrogate designation requires witnesses, not notarization. Add $10 only if a separate notarization is requested, appropriate and completed. Each additional independent witness I arrange is $35 per visit.

  4. D

VIN verification for one vehicle, over 10 through 20 miles

    $10 vehicle verification + $80 travel = $90.

PRICING QUESTIONS

Fees, payment
and policies.

Why is the notary fee only $10 but my total is higher?

Florida limits the fee for each in-person notarial act to $10. The travel fee covers driving time, mileage and scheduling, and it's agreed separately before the appointment.

Is there an extra charge for weekends?

No weekend surcharge applies. Early or late starts, rush requests, holidays and any other applicable service add-ons are itemized before you approve the appointment. A same-day appointment booked more than 4 hours ahead does not incur the rush fee.

How do I pay?

Payment is due at the end of the appointment. Accepted payment methods are confirmed in your quote. For loan signings, the hiring title, escrow or signing company is invoiced.

What if the signing can't be completed?

No notarial fee is charged for an act that is not performed. If I have already traveled and the appointment cannot proceed because of missing ID, an unavailable signer or an incomplete document, the separately agreed travel fee remains payable only as disclosed and accepted before dispatch. Any other incurred service charge must also have been expressly agreed in advance.

Do you charge per signer or per document?

Per completed notarial act, not per page or stamp impression. A document may require no notarization, one act or multiple separate acts. I confirm the required acts from the completed document and instructions before quoting; each in-person act is $10.
